Know Your Chair

Privacy

Short version: your weekly numbers stay on your phone. We hold an email address so you can sign in. There are no trackers on this site and no cookie banner, because there is nothing to consent to.

Last updated 31 August 2026. Know Your Chair is run from the United Kingdom. Questions go to hello@knowyourchair.com.

Your weekly numbers

Everything you log in the app is stored in your own browser, on your own device, using IndexedDB. It is not sent to us. There is no copy on a server that we could search, sell, hand over or lose.

Two consequences follow, and both are yours to weigh. Nobody can see your figures without your phone. And if you clear your browser data or lose the device, they are gone, because we have no copy to restore. Export is being built for exactly that reason.

What we do store

Waitlist details you chose to give: the first part of your postcode, your standard price, whether you rent or ownTo report regional pricing averages, never published below three people in an areaSupabase, London

That is the complete list. We do not hold your clients, your bookings, your bank details or your takings.

Cookies and tracking

There are none. No analytics, no advertising pixels, no session recording, no third-party tags. That is why you have not been asked to accept anything.

The app keeps your sign-in in your browser's local storage so you are not asked for a code every time. That is storage the app cannot work without, and it never leaves your device.

Companies we rely on

  • Supabase (London region) stores the email addresses above.
  • Render serves this website and the app.
  • Resend sends sign-in codes and any email we write to you.
  • Google Fonts serves the typefaces, which means your browser contacts Google and it will see your IP address. It is the only third-party request on this site, and we intend to remove it by hosting the fonts ourselves.

What we will never do

  • Sell your data, or share it with anyone for marketing.
  • Ask for your clients' names, numbers or appointments.
  • Show your figures to a shop owner, or build anything that ranks barbers against each other by name.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Since what we hold is an email address and a few optional details, that is a short conversation. Email hello@knowyourchair.com and we will action it within 30 days.

You can delete everything the app holds at any time from Options inside the app. That removes it from your device immediately.

Our basis for holding your email is your consent, given when you signed up. You can withdraw it by asking us to delete your account.

If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

If we ever start storing your weekly numbers on a server, we will say so on this page and tell you by email before it happens, not after. That promise is the reason the product is worth using.

Nothing above changes if you try it. It is free and there is no card.

Know Your Chair logs seven numbers a week and turns them into utilisation, revenue per hour, and what your gaps are costing you — tracked over time instead of worked out once.
